what about in the (admittedly highly unlikely) case that another emergency service was blocked by an ambulance on break?
pure and simple - driver is in the wrong, though the warden could have been less of a klutz to avoid the situation.

The parking and traffic enforcement “industry” in this country is a totalitarian regime full of pricks who deserve a weekly kick in the genital area.

Here, here
The parking attendant could of made a point of saying to the driver, " You shouldn't be parking here, but because of the wonderful job, you and your colleagues do, I'll let you off - please don't do it again"
If she does it again - just break both of legs.

I think it's a bit strange to actually have issued a ticket (perhaps a warning this time).
But let's be honest they simply could not be bothered to park like everyone else and then acted outraged when they were caught out.

That'd be handy as you'd need an ambulance.

Blimey, these people save lives and every second can count, yet you see fit to ask this? This is how this country has gone now, a proper nanny state with everyone cloned and too scared of breaking 'the rules' Sad.

The weather is quite warm at the moment.
I can see ambulance crews, having to treat heatstroke victims.
Why wasn't the ambulance not stocked with sufficient water to allow this and the crews a well deserved drink when necessary?

No
They were not on an emergency call, however they are on call, so looking around for a parking space, manouevering into it, walking to the store, then doing it all again in reverse could impact their response.
Alos, this was in Tesco's so it isn't the council fining anyone. It is a private company who, to their credit, immediately waived the ticket.....

Was this a small Tesco branch or their generic superstore that has lots of parking bays?

There were no bays big enough, that's why they parked there.

Personally I wouldn’t have ticketed the ambulance I would have used some discretion but saying that the ambulance could have parked in the car park and walked a few yards to the door to get a drink

There is quite a simple rule for me. If an emergency service vehicle is on a job, including a doctor on a home visit, then they can be forgiven for ignoring parking restrictions.
If not, then they must follow the same rules as the rest of us.

No.
When you employ thick cunts who don't understand the term "on call" just so you can't become a company where it's said your not employing ethnics, they deserve the bad publicity.
How anyone can think they deserved a ticket is laughable. Put in the same basket as Dianne Abbott.

I don't see that it not attending an emergency at that exact moment has anything to do with it.
The crew clearly felt that this was the best way in which they could respond to a potential emergency (that's the whole point of emergency services, isn't it? Quick response) in the shortest possible time.
An ambulance could park on my foot if it meant the difference between them attending an emergency and saving someone's life and being two minutes too late to do so.

Paramedic here We have certain dispensations to parts of the Road Traffic Act when acting in the course of our duty. The key phrase that is drummed into us.....could you justify your actions in a court of law if necessary. Could the paramedic in this case justify it in court? Probably not. I suspect the Ambulance Trust in this case will determine who the driver is and get them to pay the ticket. Have I done something similar? Of course! But you just have to be a bit careful. If we completely take the piss we will lose the general goodwill that we do get from the public.....making a difficult job even harder.

Yes. Parking attendant has enforced the law and the ambulance driver is attempting to abuse their position. Doesn’t seem the right sort of character and should be sacked FORTHWITH
Onlookers should all be fined for obstructing a public official. £1,000 each is about right.
